Production Line Case

Overview

Membracon were contacted to look into a purewater supply issue to the production line at an automotive customer in the north east of the UK. Their existing equipment was extremely dated with it becoming more difficult to get parts for spares, and becoming very time consuming for the maintenance team to keep operational.

Challenge

Membracon made a site visit and discussed with the customer the issues that they were having. Following the Membracon proposed a new 16.8m3hr Reverse Osmosis System with the correct pretreatment dosing system to optimize performance. Membracon also added the option to transfer pure water to the existing tanks to enable the existing temperamental system to become redundant. We also worked with the customer to assist in their ESG goals and proposed an energy efficient system with variable speed drives.

Solution

Upon winning the contract due to our technical scope within our proposal. The customer had a shutdown period which would be the perfect opportunity to install the new system and integrate the new transfer system into the existing pipe network.

The Project was installed and commissioned by our team of engineers on time and operational for the end of the customers shutdown.

Results

Not only did the project complete on time but due to our initial talks with the client we were able to implement a lower energy system and reducing operational costs and assist the customer to achieve their ESGs Goals.

With the addition of Membracons Service Agreement following completion, giving the customer confidence in the new system has enabled the water consumption of the facility to reduce and save costs.

Working and listening to the client during the initial proposal stage of this project enable us to install a bepoke Reverse Osmosis System to the exact customer requirements.
